The Book Owl hatched into the world in June of 2006 and has been steadily growing a loyal following ever since. Reading is always a wise choice and the Book Owl continues to flourish in it’s location at Churchland Shopping Center. The Book Owl caters to those who value reading, the arts, & culture. Books, CD’S and movies both new and used are now 50% or more off the original price. Donations are welcomed and Trades accepted for store credit for almost anything in the store (Books, CD’s, and movies can all be traded in for store credit). Gift cards are available which offers additional value. The 50% or more off the retail price alone offers great savings by increasing the buying power of every dollar spent, and the trade option can really add incredible value towards most any purchase. In addtion, Special Orders for hard to find, rare or unique books is another service that is provided. A wide selection of books, movies and CD’s are available. Specialized educational books for teachers, parents, students are offered. There is also a secluded spiritual room providing religious material with emphasis on Christianity with a broad variety of fiction and non fictional works. The store space is available free of charge to book clubs or a variety of special interest groups. The Book Owl also takes great pleasure in spotlighting local writers, artists and musicians. Currently the Chesapeake Bay Poets Society meets at the Book Owl to perform and present their works to the public the 2nd Friday of every month. There have also been a variety of musical events hosted by the Book Owl. The Book Owl occassionally offers a special sales event when hundreds of books movies and CD’s are offered for $1.00.
